Russian Plan For National Search Engine - How About YANDEX

Russian Government recently announce that they are looking to launch there own national search engine which can have better filtration of data and ensure the Safe access of Information.

The announcement bring some attention to Russian Search market.YANDEX hold approx 62% of the Search Market share of Russia. Some facts about YANDEX which definately bring attention is "Yandex is the world’s fastest growing search engine, with a massive 80% growth between December 09 and 10. Its popularity in Russia is mostly down to its in-depth and through knowledge of the “complexities and nuances of the Russian language”.

Yandex, like other ‘local’ search engines such as China’s Baidu, prefers sites hosted in Russia, with a Russian domain name i.e. .ru. In 2009 the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) announced its approval for the use of top level domain names i.e.com, .net, .ru, featuring non-Latin characters. This means that Russia’s most popular top level domain name can now be written in Cyrillic (‘.ru’ becomes ‘.рф’, which stands for ‘Rossiyskaya Federatsiya’ – Russian Federation). Yandex haven’t yet made it clear whether they are planning to hold preference to Cyrillic domain names, but if they do, it will have a huge effect on SEO practice in Russia.

FaceBook Shop In India

(Reuters) - Popular social-networking site Facebook will open an office in India, joining a long list of international firms that have looked to tap a skilled workforce that provides support services at relatively cheap wages.

The Indian social networking space which was ruled by Google owned Orkut till recently has now been replaced by Facebook. According to Alexa, Facebook is the fourth most visited site in India after Google.co.in, Google.com and Yahoo.com
As on FaceBook Blog :
As more and more people share and connect on Facebook, we are growing our operations and teams to support them around the world. Just last week, we announced plans to invest in a new Austin, Texas, office, and today in India we unveiled our intentions to open an office in Hyderabad.
Both of these offices will allow us to better serve the more than 400 million of you now using Facebook worldwide, as well as our growing number of advertisers and developers. We are now hiring people to join the online sales and operations teams that we’re forming in these new locations.
By having multiple support centers in a variety of time zones, we can provide better round-the-clock, multi-lingual support.
India is a large social media market and though Facebook has a a real firm position in country, there are even more possibilities that remain unexplored. The challenges and competition is on a rise with newer sites coming up. India has been a development base for most of the top tech players for a long time now. The availability of talent at affordable rates has lured many to have multiple offices at various parts of the country.

PayPal Update : RBI has allowed us to continue local bank withdrawals

We have been diligently working with the RBI and our business partners to resume Indian bank withdrawals for the thousands of Indian businesses who depend on PayPal to sell their goods or services in the global marketplace.

Today, we are happy to announce that the RBI has allowed us to continue local bank withdrawals for settlements for exports of goods and services.  We are currently making changes to comply with Indian regulations for settlements for exports of goods and services, and we anticipate that, as of Wednesday,

March 3rd, customers will be able to use our bank withdrawal service.

As part of the changes, you will be required to fill out a new field entitled 'Export Code' when you request a withdrawal. This information is required under the current laws of India in order to identify the nature of cross-border merchant transactions.

Moving forward, the RBI has told us that PayPal needs specific approvals to allow personal remittances to India, which we currently do not have.  Until we get these approvals, personal payments into India will remain suspended.  However, if you are an exporter, you will continue to be able to use the PayPal service for payments of goods and services.  In fact, with the changes we are making to our system, PayPal is now set to be a more powerful engine for exporters in India.  With purpose codes for export transactions and FIRCs (Foreign Inward Remittance Certificates), you should now be able to get the export related benefits you seek.

You can check the PayPal blog for additional updates.
