Search Engine battle Global Warming

An Ecosia search engine was launched on Monday 7th Dec. Christian Kroll and his Berlin-based company developed the search tool. The tool is counting on the world's fascination with the Internet to help save Brazilian rainforests and battle global warming. It is able to save up to 2 square meters of rain forest every time you start searching something.

A brain child of "green-minded friends" in Berlin, ecosia.org is powered by Bing and Yahoo! search technology but gives at least 80 percent of its revenue to the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) to protect rainforests. Servers for the Ecosia search engine are able to work on green electricity. A user has to install it only once but engine notifies you how much of the rainforest your web searching stores.

Ecosia added that each search on Google generates as much CO2 as a light bulb creates in one hour.

A World Wide Fund spokesman underlined that a lot of things can be done in case a user switches his search engine to a greener one. He also said that a user is able to defend about 2,000 square meters of rainforest every year if he uses Ecosia. In case 1% of Internet users all over the world utilizes Ecosia for their Web searches it will be possible to keep rain forest area as big as Switzerland each year.

Google Music for BING search

If you search BING on Google you will still find “bing” as a top sponsored result. Bing put ads on Google and in AdSense during its launch to get people to come check it out But now the ball is in the other court and Google is buying search ads on Bing for its fledgling Google Music Search.

Google launched its music search about a month ago and most people probably don’t even know it exists unless they search for a song or artist. If you related to music or song or singer on some parts of Bing and you get a paid ad for Google Music search.

As we all knows that search ads are very effective, especially Google. And if people are searching on Bing for Muse or songs, buying a search add is one way to let them know they can also find results on Google. Bing, of course, is happy to take Google’s money (and vice versa). But seeing an add for one search engine on a competing search engine seems like an act of desperation. It is almost a better ad for Bing because Google is acknowledging that buying ads on Bing is a good idea.

TechCrunch’s Reports about Google Android

Google Android is considered to be the hottest mobile OS. If Google produced its own cell phones then it will use the Android buzz at exactly the right time.

On Monday Gizmodo became the latest tech news site that fan the blaze of Google phone speculation. The site adduced to the following words: “who’s seen it with their own eyes.”

The Gizmodo rumors tag a report from TechCrunch in which Michael Arrington said that the Google phone would be sold direct from Google as well as by means of different retailers. According to TechCrunch’s report the Google phone was considered to be ready for the 2009 holiday sales season but detained and it would be released in 2010, for that reason Google have to prepare a massive marketing blitz for January.

Later the TechCrunch considered that Google mostly would become not the producer but the branding on the phone which according to rumors can have a name as GPhone.

Moreover one should note that it is the right time for Google to brand phone. Also Google enlarged its communications strategy during 2009. It launched Google Android and Google’s Skype that are the key engines of the strategy. Still there is the doubt that Google is able to control the smartphone market.
