Ministry of Road Transport and Highways India to Use Social Media to control Road Accident!


How effective social media has been already discussed various time in my earlier articles, we also discussed about the social media influence in Indian politics, recently "Shashi Tharoor" (Indian Politian) give comment on Traveling of politician in Airlines Economy class over one of the social media website, he has to face a unforgettable problem as his own collogues asking for his immediate resignation. This shows that Indian government is start focusing on Social Media or i can say being an offshore country now its unexamined force come on government to focus Social Media. From using websites for awareness, to create online forums for complaints, to the Indian Government launching a website to file copyrights online, the Indian Government seems to be awakening up to the phenomenon called social media.


After Obama now its turn for Indian prime minister Manmohan Sing to catch the hottest of social Media "Face book". Now Indian Government has decided to use Face book, Twitter, Orkut and other social media to reduce road traffic accidents. The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways and the International Road Federation (IRF) are combining efforts to reduce fatal accidents by 50% in the next three years. And the Government’s ambitious plan includes engaging with Social media on the same.


Indian Government looking hard to give more promotion of his activities on Social Media after all Common Wealth Game 2010 are on edge, so this will help visitors during 2010 games.
