Google’s Telecom interest is not small. It is trying to dominate the Internet Carriers as well. the reasons — partly because it wants to gain better bargain for its products like Google Voice and other is to hit the Telecom players’ pocket to make them fall prey to the Internet Giant.

 WHY GOOGLE EYE INDIA

Searchology

Google Searchology 2009

At its annual Searchology event at the Googleplex headquarters San Francisco, Google announced exciting new features that unveiled that “communication, knowledge, health, education and understanding people” is the next frontier of their search tool. This signature search tool is governed by its ability to search by sight, a mobile translator and everyday real-time search of more than one billion social media pages. The real time search technology of Google is a product of partnerships with Facebook and MySpace and Twitter.

This time Google is working to bind its search service more closely to cell phones. The search engine giant unwrapped a new search option called “Google Goggles” that allows users to submit pictures in place of key words as queries, allowing for identification of images taken via cell phones. In his statement, Google’s vice president engineering Vic Gundotra unveiled that “It’s our goal to be able to identify and recognize any image. It represents our earliest efforts in the field of computer vision”

Gundotra also said that the company is also capable of integrating facial recognition into the technology but due to the consideration of privacy implications it is holding up the implementation. In their effort to support all the major languages of the world, the company’s vice president also showed off the search engine’s capability to translate a spoken phrase from English to Spanish using a mobile phone. This feature is planned to be launched early next year.

The search results in future would also feature the company’s “near me now” technology prioritizing location-based items. Google’s new advancements and technologies are sure to provide a new search that will roll out worldwide in the coming days. Hats off to Google!

One in three of the 1,460 office workers surveyed also said they had seen sensitive company information posted on social networking sites, leading to fears about how workers use the Internet, 'The Daily Telegraph' reported.

Twitter offered $500,000 For Ad Space

Hey what is the largest offer for a single Internet banner advertisement you can recall from your memory if you unable than let me tell you whats Twitter is asking for. Twitter has just been offered a princely sum for just one day of advertising on the site.

Marketing company www.uSocial.net, who provide a service selling followers on Twitter, have just offered the social media site $500,000 USD if Twitter will allow them to place a banner ad on the site for a time period of 24 hours.

“While half-a-million dollars may seem like a large amount to invest in one banner for one day, we believe that the investment will be more than worth it.” Said uSocial.net CEO Leon Hill.

Twitter as yet do not offer any kind of advertising on the site, so the move by uSocial may well end up leading to some of the first paid ads on the site. However, it is unsure as to whether Twitter will respond favourably as they may not agree with the content being advertised.

So dear friends Twitter Tweets Ton's a Lot !

MySpace loosing Space

“Social Media “ as one of the fastest growing channel of marketing and if you this than how one can forget MySpace. You can’t talk about social media without mentioning MySpace. If your marketing strategy say that you need to target young audience than forget everything and focus on MySpace.

Being the King in social media “MySpace” losing its space from some time. According to numbers released by web analytics firm Compete.com MySpace’s U.S. traffic dropped from 55.6 million unique visitors in August to 50.2 million in September. It has nearly shed off 20% of its U.S. traffic since June and lost a little over a million U.S. visitors between June and July, but more than 4 million between July and August and over 5 million between last month and this month.

Companies that are successful in launching MySpace marketing campaigns usually use fun promotions that invoke lots of interaction, competition and bragging rights. Disney is a prime example of this. They use MySpace not just to advertise a movie that’s coming out. Instead, they spend time creating a MySpace site that allows users to participate in contests with a chance to appear in the movie or interact with the directors and stars.

MySpace is poised to haul in $495 million in ad revenue this year, down 15% from last year's $585 million, according to research firm eMarketer. In August, MySpace attracted 64.2 million unique visitors from the United States, off 15% from August 2008, according to comScore, while Facebook pulled in 92.2 million unique U.S. visitors – up more than 100% year-over-year.

If some major changes are not implemented NOW to attract the people back, MySpace would lose relevance in the realm of social media. But then that is what makes the web so exciting. There should be no monopoly and that’s shows the today market is consumer oriented and what economics say Saturation and Fall is always there. I am not surprised if down the line five years Twitter tweets low and FaceBook face disappear after all that’s the stiff market it is. Social media brands today are investing enormous time on remaining relevant and adding new features that can keep the audience coming back. But even with that, it would be difficult to believe that the near future does not hold anything which is more interesting than Facebook, more dynamic than Twitter etc. Maybe social media itself will become less relevant. Time will tell.

Lets come back to MySpace and see where the space gone.MySpace focusing on music, videos and games, it hopes to recapture some of its luster. With the MySpace refugees mounting, it's time for some new blood to make some brilliant, future-changing decisions.

MySpace rank across countries
